Bushcraft Courses
An opportunity for existing holders of our NCFE instructor course to take their skills to a higher level. Self study applies with lots of support from staff.
The original Level 4 Instructor course held over an academic year starting in September. The most comprehensive course of its kind covering every subject you need to know to enable you to start teaching by yourself.

An 8 day award winning course for 18+, popular with beginners, outdoor practitioners & those wanting to affirm their bushcraft knowledge to a high standard.

3 day intensive bushcraft course covering all of the core skills from fire by friction to shelters, plants and tree use. Suitable for beginners and as a refresher course.

5 days training plus assessment. The essential qualification for woodland work in the public domain.

Tool Use (at the Sustainability Centre)
Using a tool effectively is an art and teaching others how to use it can be difficult if you have not done it yourself. We take you through the knife, axe and saw to show you how to safely sharpen, use and make a couple of items for you to take home. Issues covered and what to do if they get stuck!

Licence or book privately. Aimed at 14 to 19 year olds, this qualification can be combined over a year or as a stand alone subject and comes in Level 1 and Level 2 formats. We have a history of spectacular results for children who struggle in a classroom environment.
