At Woodcraft School, we focus on wildlife tracking, bushcraft, and developing deep knowledge of plants, trees, and the natural environment—skills that foster a lasting and meaningful connection with the wild. Our in-depth, hands-on approach helps you build practical experience and a stronger relationship with the natural world.

Founded by lifelong naturalist and experienced educator John Rhyder—whose teaching career began in 1994—Woodcraft School has been delivering respected and innovative training since 2000. Our education is available through immersive in-person courses, flexible online learning, and a range of published books. Whether you’re just beginning your journey or looking to deepen your expertise, our teaching is grounded in real experience and a passion for nature.
